Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork
Thai Massage, otherwise known as “lazy man’s yoga”, uses the principles of universal energy, nerve touch, pressure points, and Hatha yoga postures to stretch, massage and relax the body through its release. Thai Massage works on opening the energy flow with palpation of the body's energy lines and energy points, along with gentle-deep stretching. This work balances the flow of vital life force or prana to the internal organs, thus stimulating your body's natural ability to heal itself. Although, Thai Bodywork does not aim to work directly on the muscle, it releases chronic tension stored in the muscular tissue. Contrary to other massage methods, Thai Massage is performed fully clothed on a floor mat, starting from the feet and moving to the head. The practitioner may use thumbs, hands, elbow, knees, and feet.
Thai Foot Reflexology
Thai Foot reflexology is a massage of the lower legs and feet that involves hands-on stretching and massage to “open” Zen (energy) Lines, along with the use of a stick to stimulate the reflex points on the feet which correspond to the internal organs of the body. Thai Foot Massage stimulates these points to promote general health and well-being.
Ayurvedic Bodywork (Abhyanga)
Ayurveda is a natural health care system originating in ancient India, over 5000 years ago. Ayur means "life" and Veda means "knowledge" - the knowledge of life, an art of harmonizing body, mind and spirit. Abhyanga massage uses long repetitive rhythmic strokes to cleanse toxins from lymph, blood, and muscles for relaxing, total rejuvenating, clarifying the mind, and restoring the energy field. Using warm Ayurvedic oils, abhyanga is a true body ritual.
Taoist Abdominal and Hara Bodywork (Chi Nei Tsang)
CNT works mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft, and gentle touch, to train internal organs to work more efficiently. It also integrates breath and vocal sounds corresponding to each organ to activate its energy source. The abdomen is the power house of the human body carrying out most of the metabolic function and digestion, not only at the physical level, but at the etheric or energy realm, since most of the energy path ways pass through it. When an overload of food and energy (emotions) toxins is ingested, the abdomen develops blockages in the internal organs that result in knots and tangles. As a consequence, the body deteriorates and becomes ill. CNT helps to release unhealthy energy and unprocessed food residues, activating the life source of energy within us, “The Hara”.
